Recent Tsunami Warning for the Hawaiian Islands

During our recent winter vacation in Maui, there was a Tsunami warning for the Hawaiian islands. After three hours the warning was reversed and it was all over as quickly as it had started but a lot of people wondered where they would go if something like this really did occur, not only in Hawaii, but in other beach resorts around the world.
To get to higher ground, in West Maui where we were, would not necessarily be as easy as you might think, because there are very few roads that lead up the mountains to safety.
The possibilities of enormous tragedy got me to thinking that vacation renters should be issued a detailed description of the quickest way for them to evacuate to safety. It would not be necessary to alarm people, but only to let them know where to go and what to take in the very unlikely event that the beach areas had to be evacuated.
